7 Days Mount Kilimanjaro Climb Rongai Route

Best Time to Climb:
  • June to October: Dry season with favorable weather for trekking.

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transfer to your hotel in Moshi. Meet your guide for a briefing about the trek and check your gear. Spend the evening relaxing and preparing for the climb.
After breakfast, drive to Rongai Gate for registration and gear check. Start your trek through the lush rainforests to Simba Camp (2,600 m). This first section offers beautiful forest views and the chance to see wildlife.
Continue through the forest, gradually ascending toward Second Cave Camp (3,450 m). The day offers amazing views of the Kenyan plains and the northern icefields of Kilimanjaro.
Trek through moorland and alpine desert towards Kikelewa Camp (3,600 m). The landscape changes dramatically as you approach the higher altitudes, offering expansive views of Kilimanjaro's summit.
Ascend to Mawenzi Tarn Camp (4,330 m) for your acclimatization day. This camp is located beneath the towering Mawenzi Peak, offering awe-inspiring views of the rugged terrain. Take time to rest and acclimatize to the altitude.
Descend to the Saddle between Mawenzi and Kibo Peaks before ascending to Kibo Camp (4,700 m). This camp is a great resting point for climbers before the summit attempt. The atmosphere is more barren and arid, but the views are unforgettable.
Start the summit push around midnight. The trek will be demanding as you ascend through steep terrain in the dark to reach Uhuru Peak (5,895 m) at sunrise. Celebrate your achievement before beginning the descent to Mweka Camp (3,100 m) for a well-deserved rest.
Complete your descent to Mweka Gate, where you will receive your summit certificate. Transfer back to Moshi for relaxation or onward travel.
