Summit Tanzania’s second-highest mountain at a more relaxed pace, with time to acclimatise, an optional hike to Little Meru and spectacular views of Kilimanjaro.

Itinerary

1. Arrival in Arusha — Transfer from Kilimanjaro International Airport, a detailed briefing and a gear check.
2. Momella Gate to Miriakamba Hut (2,514 m) — Trek through montane forest past giraffes, buffalo and colobus monkeys.
3. Miriakamba Hut to Saddle Hut (3,570 m) — Climb to Elephant Ridge for views of the Meru Crater, with an optional hike to Little Meru.
4. Summit day: Socialist Peak (4,566 m) — Set off at midnight, reach the summit at sunrise and descend to Miriakamba Hut.
5. Descent to Momella Gate and departure — Celebrate with your certificate and transfer back to Arusha.
